Initiative

The NASH: A Call to Action is an ongoing, multidisciplinary effort to align clinicians on best practices to improve the screening, diagnosis, and management of nonalcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) and nonalcoholic steatohepatitis (NASH).

Needs Assessment Survey

Conducted among 751 multidisciplinary physicians to gauge awareness of NAFLD, NASH, and the screening and diagnostic tools available.

NASH: A Call-to-Action Consensus Conference

AGA convened global leaders in gastroenterology, hepatology, endocrinology and primary care to align on an action plan to prepare clinicians for the NASH epidemic.

Preparing for the NASH Epidemic: A Call-to-Action Consensus Report

Co-published in Gastroenterology, Diabetes Care, Metabolism, and Obesity, the paper recommended developing a clinical care pathway that uses validated and efficient noninvasive tests and calculators to support a multidisciplinary approach to screening, diagnosis and management of NAFLD/NASH.

NASH: Take Action! CME Podcast

6-episode podcast series provided CME and featured interviews with world-renowned experts in NAFLD, NASH and metabolic syndrome on screening, diagnosing and managing these conditions.

NASH Clinical Care Pathway

Published in Gastroenterology to provide practical guidance across the spectrum of care from screening and diagnosis to management of patients with NAFLD and NASH, facilitating value-based, efficient, and safe care that is consistent with evidence-based guidelines.

Let’s Smash NASH! Mobile App

The Let's Smash NASH! clinical care pathway mobile app is a tool for use at the point-of-care, providing evidence-based recommendations about the timing, sequence and provision of interventions, assisting practitioners in identifying, evaluating and managing patients with NASH.
